NORTH DAKOTANS SUPPORT AGE LIMITS FOR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS

June 12, 2024

Fargo, North Dakota – With a vote of 61-39%, North Dakota voters overwhelmingly approved a measure backed by the Retire Congress North Dakota campaign, applying 80-year old age limits on members of Congress.

Jared Hendrix, Chairperson of the measure, released the following statement: “A large majority of North Dakotans made it clear that they think members of Congress should retire, like everyone else. On the heels of a successful Term Limits Measure, this is another firm statement from North Dakota voters that they’re tired of career politicians that stay in office forever and lose touch with their constituencies. We’re very hopeful that this win will force a broader discussion in other states and across the country!”

He continued: “We are grateful to all those who supported our measure, and hopeful that those who opposed it will see and understand the need for it over time.”
